Shiva Mountain, #Blackforest Nature Park, #Germany.

Its first stone was set more than 700 years ago. Known locally now as 'Klenteng Tri Dharma Feng De Xuan' [鳳德軒], this Buddhism-Taoism-Confucianism temple is also home to the infamous "Wayang Potehi" shadow puppet show. #travel #temples #tridharma #Surabaya #wayangpotehi

From the archive: Tiananmen Square, circa 1996. Shot on ISO25, the color rendition was an eye opener for one who was an exclusive black and white shooter. A common sight then, illegally-parked bicycle is very unlikely now around the area. I remember driving an embassy car a few years later after I took this photo, the area became a pedestrian-only zone. #travel #China #film #blastfromthepast

Another one from the archive: The Temple of Heaven, #Beijing, #China, circa 1995.
One trick I learned then, that I still use now is to arrive early and start from the opposite direction when I visit popular sites. You skip the foot traffic and you get a private tour of the site. This photo was shot on my way out as the first batch of bus tours began to flow through the gates. Light was great and the crowd somehow made it more natural than it is picture perfect.

A blast from the recent past. The #Bund (外滩), from the street level back from 1998 in #Shanghai. Shot on #film and I believe the moon was a beginner's Photoshop job. This photograph was one of the early collection from my first portfolio that would later landed me professional work which I'm forever grateful.
