We had a big day in the Wasatch yesterday. 7600 feet of gain over 13.5 miles and bagged twin peaks for my first time. 3 hours of bushwhacking in Deaf Smith canyon to start the day off and I got hit twice with stinging needle. Everyone was wrecked afterward but in good spirits. We all had fun recapping the day over beers and pizza on a restaurant patio. Great day in the mountains!

The foothills above Salt Lake City is a place I hadn't come to love until recently.

I went on an overland adventure with a few friends this weekend. We made it to some really remote places that we had all to ourselves. Utah is always surprising me with how much crazy terrain is hidden out in the desert. We saw so much this weekend and still only skimmed the surface.

Secret path to the beach.

We got some good snorkeling in today. Lots of fish and some nice reef. Annette learned to snorkel today and she loved it, even after she was mortally wounded by a barnacle. We are all sunburned to hell and headed back to Tokyo tomorrow.

We headed down to Okinawa for some beach time. I'm hoping I can find some snorkel gear today and go exploring these reefs.

This temple was originally built in 751 and has been burned down and rebuilt twice. Amazing because it is so massive.

Today we visited the great Buddha in Todai-ji temple which was built by roughly 2,600,000 people contributing food, labor, and materials. The metal statue of Buddha was created by 350,000 people working directly on the statue which is 52 feet tall.
