I'm out of bed for the first day since arriving home on Friday so am moving slowly but purposefully.
Still only running on about 30% I'd say.
I hope everyone's enjoying this beautiful Anzac Day xx Lest We Forget.
Our last few days in Bali were spent like this. Actually relaxing, doing nothing and enjoying the (slightly) slower pace of Ubud. The last of the 3 villas we stayed in over the past two weeks was easily the best. High-end everything, impeccable service, privacy and a free shuttle into town, whenever we needed it! Check out Mekar Sari Villas if you’re in Ubud and book your stay with @JetstarNZ after you’ve booked your flights. Too easy!
Our last hurrah.
Could only eat half washed down with a couple of Panadol. Nix fell asleep on me then had diarrhea in his pants. On me.
He slept right through washing him off in the airport, throwing away his pants and putting a nappy on him.
Yes, he'll be 4 in July and still wears a nappy at night because he has no control of bowel movements because #hirschsprungsdisease
Last few hours in Bali and I'm not feeling the best.
Smoothies, Panadol, relaxing in the shade while the boys charge #waterbombali again. 4.5 hrs til our holiday is over 😑😑
I'd been saving this activity kit from @netflixanz for that holiday moment when the kids were bored/tired/cranky and out it came this afternoon. Nix has been missing his #MisterMaker crafting sessions while we've been in Bali, so he loved being able to get creative using his fave #Netflix characters as inspo. First on the list was a Walter sock puppet from the #BeatBugs show - Soooo cute!
And yes, I'm wearing a beret and glasses as I needed to look the part when directing the puppet show 🤓
My modest Bali Book List and reviews are on the blog now if you're looking for some good reads!
Loved these three books so much ❤📚 Link is in profile x
We are finished with the touristing! Time to lay about and relax and read books on our last 3 days in Bali. Nix is a bit unwell tbh so it's perfect timing to slow down a little. How ginge does he look here?! 🍓
Sometimes the beauty here makes even Nix peaceful - which is a wondrous and miraculous thing.
Early mornings in Ubud.
There is no one here but us 🙏
Nix is driving us mental so E and I have gone to walk Campuhan Ridge Walk for a break. We walked up and up past temples and rice terraces, E finally caught a yellow bellied skink and we've stopped for a fruit plate, some guac and chips and a Bintang. We are sitting in a hut at the Karsa Cafe over a lotus pond filled with tilapia and coi, surrounded by rice paddies and there is a pond filled with giant catfish as big as Nixon!
It's pretty much perfect 👌
Baby bombs! 🌊
Wandering the gangs in Bali is something I don’t think I’ll ever tire of. It’s gritty, colourful, friendly and confronting all at once and it’s amazing for making our kids step outside their comfort zone. Bali may be the destination de jour for seemingly ‘luxe’ family holidays but that’s not how we roll and quite frankly I’d be totally bored laying by a pool everyday lol.
The beauty of Bali is you can ‘Do Bali’ however you want!
This is a trip of a lifetime for us, and it’s further cemented our commitment to showing our boys the world! We flew @jetstarNZ and just like your experience in Bali, you can add-to or strip-back your fares to suit your budget. I LOVE how much more accessible this makes travelling as a family, we save money wherever we can because for us, the destination is what it’s all about - stoked my boys love the ramen here in Indo lol xx
You are the bomb #JetstarNZ, we love you, #sp or not.
