RUN 🏃🏻 // MONDAY MILES - DONE DID 👏🏼 and BOY does it feel good to be out and about getting some regular mileage in the sausage legs. 2017 is about the half marathon distance for me. After spending 2016 running long distances and regularly taking part in marathons and ultra-marathon distances, 2017 is the year I get the speed back in my legs and use the strong mind I manifested during ultra training to push through pain when moving fast. Tonight was simple, a breezy solo four miles after work. Not over-exerting, not pushing my body to the brink, but teaching it that YES - this is what we do, and YES we will be doing this a lot more 🙌🏼. The increased mileage and time on the streets come these last few weeks as I've revamped my training since Berlin half. It happens all too often that I get comfortable and obsessive in the four walls of the gym. Lifting heavy weights because it helps me feel strong. All too soon I gain too much muscle mass and loose the cardio aspect of my training. I end up over training and not training properly for what I want to actually achieve. SO since Berlin, the balance is better, and I'm really enjoying it. Getting out and running more, exploring the city I love so much. Riding as an alternative and hitting spin for that high intensity thrill that fills me with endorphins. #Run Streak Day 1606. It's Bling Bling Monday! Ran the LoCo challenge this weekend. 8k on Saturday and Half Marathon on Sunday. The coolest part is definitely the LoCo Challenge spinner medal.
