Perhaps you’ve seen the video: Storm, this 6-year-old golden retriever, paddles toward a brown lump bobbing in the water of Port Jefferson Harbor. Taking the lump — a fawn — in his mouth, he hauls it toward the beach and gently nudges its belly. The fawn barely responds. Storm nuzzles it again. Nothing. He paws at its tiny hooves. Then the video ends. If you haven’t seen it, more than 4.5 million others have. Its canine hero is “the most gentle, gracious dog you ever want to meet,” according to his (arguably biased) owner, Mark Freeley. How the 3-month-old white-tailed deer ended up in the water is not known. Frank Floridia, who runs the Strong Island Animal Rescue League, drove the deer to an animal rescue. It had unexplained lacerations on its head and one closed eye, but it remains in stable condition, drinking baby goat formula from a bowl. Johnny Milano (@grief) took this photo while on #nytassignment. Visit the link in our profile to read more.

Vila, Siberian Husky (14 y/o), 59th & 7th Ave., New York, NY • "I rescued her 13 years ago. She's deaf, so we've taught her a few hand signs, like eat, good girl, come on, and drop it, which is probably her least favorite sign. Our other two dogs are buried in the Hartsdale Pet Cemetery – fast forward 30 years and I'll probably be there with them too."

On @comedycentral’s “Key and Peele,” @keeganmic played any number of outrageous characters: an “anger translator” for @barackobama; a battle-honed substitute teacher adjusting to a mostly white classroom; a squad’s worth of oddly named college football players. But in the 2 years since that socially conscious sketch series ended, @keeganmic has been pursuing a very different project: figuring out who he is and what he wants to do independently of his frequent collaborator @jordanpeele. That identity has started coming into clearer focus with roles in a new @netflix comedy, "Friends From College,” and the @publictheaterny’s production of “Hamlet.” So, how did @keeganmic end up in “Hamlet”? He started regularly having coffee with the director, Sam Gold. Then, one day, out of the blue, the 46-year-old explained, Sam offered him the role of Horatio — “a role that I’ve been fascinated by for well over 20 years." @keeganmic’s dream? "If Matt Damon retired, I want to play Jason Bourne in 4 more Jason Bourne films, and I want to get $5 million a picture, and then in my off time, do Shakespeare.” @alexwelshphoto took this portrait of #KeeganMichaelKey outside the @publictheaterny while on #nytassignment.
