was waiting to spring clean until you know the weather was β˜€οΈ & I could fly open all the windows and doors πŸ’¨ turn off the heat and clean the nooks and crannies of my house. well rainy, windy, hailing, clouding is all I got. laundry in washer, clothes in my dryer and this jar of baking soda in my hand. πŸ‘ŠπŸ»

this afternoon we churned our own butter! and by churn I mean shake cream like a leaf in a little glass jar. it took about 7 min from start to finish and tastes so wonderful. made with love :)
here's what we did:
pour 1oz organic (@organicvalley) very cold heavy cream into a little glass jar with tight fitting lid. shake quickly and without stopping for 4 min. first you'll see whipped cream form. After that a little clump that looks like butter but very light in color. keep shaking and you'll see it release a little bit of liquid and the little clump with be bright yellow. separate the buttermilk (yes you've made buttermilk too!) from the butter and add a little salt and mix. that's it! the children couldn't wait to taste it, warmed buttered toast made a perfect snack 🌱🌿
