Ran 2.62 miles this morning in honor of today's Boston Marathon. I should add that it's been a while since I've run, so they were slow and exhausting, but I survived. Take that, Monday.
...and just like that, I'm the parent of an adult. Happy Birthday, Michael. So proud of you, and everything you are becoming. God is doing amazing things in your life - keep trusting in Him. I love you!
My favorite out of many good quotes from yesterday's message by Pastor @_pete_moore_ .
One of those weeks when you really need the full armor of God...
For Christmas in 2015, my sister gave me a "Remember-loutions" jar. The idea behind it was instead of making resolutions that would be easily broken and abandoned, to write down good memories from the year as they happened, so at the end of the year, you can look back at the good memories and be thankful instead of looking at all the resolutions you failed to keep again. A year ago today, God showed up at our church in a unique and powerful way, so much so that I felt compelled to document the moment in my jar. What I didn't realize at the time was on that day, God was also delivering me an amazing blessing, as that was the day René first attended HeartsEase. Reflecting on all of this today and I'm thankful.
Two years ago I ran the 10K at the Louisiana Marathon. It was a good experience, and almost immediately afterward I signed up to run the half marathon the following year (2016). And then I did nothing. I stopped running for months, and barely did any training after that. I ended up not even attempting the race. This year, despite the obstacles, despite wanting to quit, I completed my first full marathon. And I learned beyond the shadow of a doubt that I CAN do all things through Christ.
Less than 10 hours away from the start of my first marathon. Feeling excited and scared to death at the same time. 🏃🏽♀️#geauxrunla#brproud
The 2016 vision statement for @heartseaseflc was "Create space for God to fill."
And He did.
Happy New Year - praying for your 2017 to be richly blessed.
