Day 21. Had a few bike rides today. One was to attend the Mitch Chemistry Lecture at Hamline. The is an annual event. This year's speaker was Dr Prashant Kamat from Notre Dame University discussing the use of nanotechnology in solar energy production. The lunch before the lecture was held in a room overlooking the football field. Great view. #hamlineuniversity#klasstadium#30daysofbiking#biking#saintpaul#pfmrides
Day 18. Signs of spring. I rode to Reservoir Woods today, locked my bike to a tree and walked along a trail in the marshy part of the park. In addition to these emerging ferns, there were nesting ducks and geese on the pond, lots of spring peepers calling and I saw my first myrtle warbler of the year. Pretty good considering that it was heavy overcast and 20 mph winds. #pfmrides#saintpaul#biking#30daysofbiking#reservoirwoodspark
Day 16. Beautiful Easter afternoon. Rode all around the Como area and cut through the park to see how crowded it was. Lots of families enjoying the sun and having cookouts. Found this evidence of at least one Easter accident.
Day 15. Wow already half finished with #30daysofbiking . So far I am averaging about 12.5 miles per day, and have ridden 187 miles since April 1. Today was a day of chores and shopping. Made two trips to our regular grocery (Mississippi Market) and that gave me my 12 miles of biking. #biking#saintpaul#pfmrides
Day14. Had a 'proper' bike ride today - a little over 18 miles and the last 20 minutes were in the rain. Rode to Crosby Farm a nature park in Saint Paul on the Mississippi River. It is one of our favorite local parks because it consists mainly of paths through the woods with very few 'improvements'. The photo is a tree on the river bank, trying to hang on while the bank is being eroded away under it. #30daysofbiking#mississippiriver#crosbyfarmpark#biking#pfmrides
