Here's a collection of photos from this weekend. 1. Gerry celebrating waking up early just to hike and view the sunrise on the side of a mountain. 2. Our trek up the snow pass. 3. One of the snow patches we had to use our crampons for to traverse to continue the trail. 4. A couple of hikers we befriended along the trail. 5. Our turning point. 1 mile away from the summit and the storm clouds rolled in. That photo is the point of our decision to turn around. 6. Campsite 7. Trekking back down. Check out those gnarly clouds! 8. Rocks. Rocks everywhere. 9. View from the switchbacks. Sooooo many switchbacks. 10. Gerry crossing the area where snow was still on the trail. Hope you guys enjoy and hope it inspires you to get out there! Be safe while you're in the wild and please remember to pack out your trash.
Came back from Whitney safely. Here's the only video I took... approaching Trail Crest (13,500ft). I didn't take many photos or videos on this trip. It's difficult to balance a camera in one hand while holding an ice axe/ hiking pole in the other. Anyhoo, here's a glimpse of how steep the trail was.
Packing and doing a gear check for this weekend's Mt Whitney summit. First attempt was in Oct and unsuccessful due to the weather. Hoping this time around it'll be better! But I def wouldn't have expected snow and ice to still be at the top! I can't wait to glissade down the chute! #Weadventureoften#Jadineisahashtagbully
#maplemartyparty When you surround yourself with people like this, you can't help but feel blessed. Always excited when the RadFam13 gets together!
Looking forward to reuniting with these Crazies for tomorrow's celebration of a beautiful couple. Here's a flashback from last year's wedding for Joel & Amanda! (Also, happiest of birthdays to Amanda!)
When your little brothers want to re-enact that famous movie scene... from Titanic 🤣 (they were trying to do The Lion King but this was the result.)
Obligatory Instagram post pre show.
Thanks for the memories.
Reposting this photo with a few edits to help the Milky Way really shine. Really enjoying seeing how different the Milky Way looks depending on where I've been able to see it. Such a realization that the world is round 😝
