New ride. With our current busy lives we needed a second car. It's a Mercedes Vito van. With seats for our two kids and enough space to move larger paintings from my studio to my gallery and clients. It's second hand but in a near perfect state. Happy with it! Next step: some car signage.

'Back on black', 120 x 160cm (47" x 63"). Moved the painting from my studio to the Mr. Upside gallery this afternoon. It seemed appropriate on this sad day...
Acrylic paint on stretched canvas. Soon available in the Mr. Upside webshop.
172 toy cars in a large cardboard box. Bought this evening on Dutch online trading site #Marktplaats. The cars will be used in an image for the invitation of the second birthday of Liam (son). Hard to guess what he is in to these days, :)
Had time for a super quick pencil sketch while the kids where drawing too. Miss the times where I drew almost every evening and made cartoons, ;)
Yeah! My summer holiday officially just started! Excellent cake, apple pie, cappuccino and espresso at the Bijenkorf in The Hague. A well deserved winding down after a crazy busy couple of weeks of pushing pixels.
After we all woke up at 09.30h this morning (hallelujah!) and with @studiojanettevantol at a lunch nearby, I took the kids to @vervanhier, a nice kid-friendly breakfast / lunch / coffee place in Rotterdam. They love it here because of the large toy selection and play corner. It's a childrens bookstore too!
Pixels are demanding all my attention currently and sucking up all my creativity. Not a bad thing. Pixels are good at paying bills. So these bananas are the only outlet of my creativity lately. They are ment as a 10am snack at the primary school of my daughter and they need to be recognizable amongst all other 10am snacks :) - So my apologies for the lack of fresh new paintings but better times are coming!
Moved these paintings to my gallery this morning for the final touch ups, signing and a few better pictures. Size: 90x120cm - Price: € 299,- a piece (when finished) -Available in the Mr. Upside webshop soon!
Nice! Mr. Upside is featured in the Contemporary Book of Excellence Vol. III. Making art and then hoping someone will notice it without properly showing it to the world, is not the strategy I had in mind for my art. But where... [read more on the weblog]
Just about a year ago I did a commission for #KPN, one of the largest telecommunication providers in the Netherlands. It was a very intense project. Long hours, little sleep but very rewarding. The concept is that each team member gets one wooden block. All the blocks together form a larger Mr. Upside Bold Lines painting. The beauty of it lies in the fact that after the Team Day the artwork will not excist anymore because the separate parts will never come together again. Loved it!
