Jesus. My wife. My kids. Add some photography and a little bit of golf and guitars. Pretty much sums up my life.
I always aim for this shot with every wedding I shoot... unfortunately 9 times out of ten the groom is emotionless. But when I do get one that isn't afraid to show his feelings, it reminds me of why I chose to shoot weddings... being able to share these moments with my clients and knowing that they will be able to reflect on those awesome moments forever! I think as men, we are taught to be tough and to keep our emotions at bay in all situations. But I digress... I thinks it shows strength to be able to show the world your tears of joy and to know that you don't care who's sees you cry when you see your bride for the first time! This was a beautiful display and I'm blessed to have been able to share in this moment with these two.
Today is a special day for us... today we celebrate 2 years with our precious little girl, Amelia. She has filled our lives with more joy than we had ever expected, and more fatigue than we ever wanted. Lol. It's hard to remember life before she joined us but I do remember the stress levels being extremely high. .
My wife has done a good job explaining the day she arrived and how special it is to us:
Two years ago today, April 23rd, I was scheduled to be induced, but God had different plans. When I arrived at the hospital I was already in labor and soon after being hooked up to monitors my water broke on its own. Amelia Grace's grand entrance was something so special to Matt and me as she was born on the due date of the baby we lost 3 years prior. Towards the end of my pregnancy when I realized it may be a possibility that Amelia Grace would be born around April 23rd, I secretly hoped and prayed that to happen. There was so much grief surrounding the loss of our other baby and much heartache with going through fertility issues afterwards, so for the Lord to grant my secret little desire just showed me how intimate He is to speaking to us, showing His face and getting the glory in the end. Amelia GRACE is just what our family needed. She has brought so much joy to our family with her spunky personality, laughs, and snuggles. Happy 2nd birthday sweet girl! I love you to the moon and back!
A little throwback to when our Adeline was 1... so sweet and so angel like... yet, as I type this, the sounds of screams and whining and crying and yelling fill my ears from this little angel's vocal cords. My how things change in just a few short years. lol.
