Sending love 197km away to my dad who has given his all and his best to raise us, provide for us, and love us so sacrificially and unselfishly! Happy Father's Day, Daddy! ❤️
Post 4PM service dinner! Perfect way to end the day after a full day of power packed services at #ActsChurch! From the rising of the sun to its going down! 🌞🌜✨
Flew back in time for CampusCity last night – wouldn't miss it for the world! We had a blast at our East Malaysian themed night! It began with east Malaysian goodies such as Sarawak laksa, kolomee, kek lapis, kuih cincin and Tenom coffee served as refreshments. Then we were treated to a brilliant 'sape' performance on the guitar by Adrian Tiga. Worship was lit! There's just something about worshiping God in Bahasa. Our emcees Melissa Nuah and Willy did an amazing job chairing in both Bahasa and English. Our UiTM students presented Tatiana Alu-Alu so well and creatively made their own DIY bamboo for the dance! We invited up Mel, Willy and Joanne (from Sibu, Bintulu and Kuching respectively) for a talk show to hear about their journey in our church since the day they stepped in as students, to where they are now – so blessed by their stories! Then Dr V preached an amazing Word about how we were made for so much more. What a night! #CampusCity takes a break this coming Friday, 23 June due to the Raya hols, but we'll be back on 30 June so see you there! :)
Day 5 - Final day of this break: Caught up with Dr Jane @verynicelah over a terrific brunch at this quaint place Grigons & Orr in North Melb. You enter into a frontage that looks like a candy store, going up wooden stairs into charming lil spaces. Loved the experience and the company. Wandered around Queen Victoria Market, and then into town to browse around, listen to buskers (pictured here is @dallimusic - he's good!), and get coffee from Duke's - best cuppa I had here so far). Then it was back to the Hub to pack and clean it up, and here I am now at the Melbourne airport, waiting to board my flight home. We are pilgrims, only passing by... It's been a good trip, and I thank God for the testimonies and opportunities, but it's time to go home and continue to walk by faith, following His lead! :)
// Btw, love this photo of Dr Jane in the 4th pic!
Day 4: Today began with a $1 coffee and $5 sandwich from 7Eleven (so impressed!) on our way to the Melbourne Zoo. YAY, zoo! Check out the adorable lemur in the 3rd pic. It looked like it was meditating, but when I googled, turns out it was sunbathing.. stretching out its arms to bask in the sun's full glory. TOO CUTE, I CANNOT. Headed to the Grain Store, said to be the #1 breakfast spot in Melbourne, but unfortunately it was already lunchtime so we missed the breakfast menu. However, we discovered the BBQ pulled lamb dish which was SO amazing – hands down, the best thing I've tasted in this trip so far... but their popular gnocchi dish was IMHO, forgettable. Their chai latte was too weak for my liking. We were rushing because, #priorities - we wanted to do a lil shopping at DFO before Eunice left for the airport. Was good to catch up with Bryan Cheng, who joined my Homes years ago when he was just a teenager, over humongous chicken parma at Universal. And now I'm trying to fit and stuff everything into my suitcase before heading back tomorrow night!
Day 2: This post comes with a warning... Don't swipe through the photos if you're feeling hungry now! So good to see Sonali again, who was the perfect host! She drove Charlene and I to Springvale for some lovely, flavorful pho, then all the way to Mt Dandenong where we had a leisurely stroll followed by brunch and scones. At night, Eunice and I shared and happily slurped down Hakata's ramen and Menya's gyu tan don, followed by gelato from Pidapipó... And made ourselves feel better about all that food by walking and roaming all over town. Anyway, the banana milk and pistachio gelato were soooooo good but we were hardly impressed by the Nutella swirl. Trying out Messina tomorrow!
Day 1, Pt. 2: Didn't capture everything.. but walked everywhere! Lovin' the weather. And love the awesome welcome basket prepared by @ActsMelbourne with the help of @lemonthymefleur.. Thank you! 💕
Day 1, Pt. 1: First things first. So good to worship God with our Acts Melbourne family and to bring God's Word there today! Truly like home away from home. Gotta say that they have the fanciest visitor's lounge ;) Rare breakfast affair with the lovely Charlene before service and then lunch with Acts Melbourne peeps after that! Join them every Sunday, 10.30am at Pegasus Apart' Hotel!
Going deeper together at #CN22LivingStones tonight! So good to have Pr David Shahbaz with us tonight! 6 years ago, he came from Pakistan to work in Shah Alam and found Acts Church. He attended the Homes that I was leading in Kota Kemuning then. He shared with us how he used to be a Christian only by name, but experienced a personal revival in his time with us in Malaysia. I remember how he would always honor the Sabbath and never missed Sunday service or Homes. He would take a bus to where our Intec UiTM students were, then traveled together to church with them. His co-workers called him foolish, because the more hours you worked, the more you would earn. He then went on to bible school, and eventually went back to Pakistan. He felt led to start a church, and he now pastors 3 churches, leading many to Christ, baptizing them and witnessing many miracles. His testimony was a perfect example of today's bible study - the real power of God's Word lies not in just knowing it, but in living it out!
Looking forward to Homes tonight! Come join us as we begin the second 'W' (Word) from the Actsperience series! #CN22LivingStones
Enjoyed serving on the band with these folks! 🎉🙌🏻 #FairStival17 Worship Team 2!
