Harlan wants you to know that he's feeling pretty good and has started to eat again. That test which told us he had a dreaded disease must've been all wrong. The second opinion vet today said if it had been correct he'd be so much sicker (or dead) by now. Thank you for praying. Now someone is going to have the joy of adopting this precious boy and have the cat of a lifetime.
We love it when it's Do A Dot Art day at the senior center! Freddie, Patsy and Yolanda did a beautiful job on theirs. Thanks for your help @ashtttag :-) @hopeforla
This isn't very good cinematography but I caught a cute moment. Big Searles is giving Harlan a therapeutic massage. Maybe it will help him feel better. Harlan seems to be pretty stable but I need him to eat more so we're working on that. Thanks for your prayers.
Patsy's had a rough couple of days. Her stomach has been a hot mess. But sweet Harlan was worse off: the emergency vet on Tuesday gave us a pretty grim diagnosis. A second opinion from the rescue organization's vet yesterday is still pending but he seems stable and is likely to be just fine. Me? I'm not so sure. I actually fell asleep standing in the pet store this evening looking at the flea combs. (Yes, we have that problem too.)
Even cats don't want to be "that guy" who eats the very last one.
Um, what!? I'd like to see you use that in a sentence.
Here is my lap of love this evening: Harlan and Patsy – the sweetest kittens in North America. I can't believe they have not been claimed by someone who is serious about adopting super friendly and totally adorable baby cats. They're about 3 months old, so the perfect age for adoption. They use the litter box well, they eat well, they're healthy, they are socialized, and frankly everything someone could ask for or want in a kitten. Please message me for details. I have two boys and two girls and they are among the best kittens I've ever fostered, for reals. :-)
Somebody just took a spill on the pool deck with a glass hummingbird feeder in his hand on a 117 degree day! The glass shattered into his hand so he had to get 12 stitches. Glad I was here to help.
Sweet little Patsy, my torbie (tabby with tortie patches) girl is still available for adoption. Visit her and her siblings in the Los Angeles area and be ready to fall in ❤️. If you don't live in Southern Cal and want to adopt Patsy and / or her other siblings, no problem. A volunteer with the rescue works for the airlines and will transport. Have kitten, will travel! Message me with inquiries.
Here's some good letter board wisdom for today!
I'm a maker! Every day my goal is to "make" something. Granted, some days I only manage to make a salad or a cocktail but you get the picture. This is my very first queen size quilt and one that I made for my own bed. I still need to add the edge trim. Please vote on a color and help me decide: avocado green or robin's egg blue.
Little Searles (also called Squirrels) posed for a couple of photos this evening. He wants a really good home so please spread the word.
