Miles started a fire while I was running errands. 😳 He is safe. The damage is minimal. He must have been checking out what was on the stove and hit the knobs, which ignited the newspapers and package I clumsily left on the stovetop. I was running strands in preparation of my move and somehow left my door unlocked. The neighbor across the hall heard the smoke detector going off and popped his head in and saw the heavy smoke. He got Miles out and then grabbed the fire extinguisher and put out the fire, as the fire trucks were on their way. Miles is okay and there's minimal damage butIm pretty upset with myself. The smoke is pretty strong and the extinguisher dust is everywhere. It could have been so much worse.
I just walked 30 blocks, from Columbia University and down Central Park West. Apologies to whomever sits next to m on the train back to D.C. 😅 You might think I just got out of the shower. Nah, that's just sweat!
Accurate reflection of how I feel in the summer heat. #magnolia
Another mini magnolia!
This pretty much sums up #PetworthDC. Good luck, Hip Sitter.
I missed #dcpride today, but Petworth has her colors showing.
