Yesterday I had the honor or celebrating #internationalyogaday with 5 yoga classes filled with beautiful-inside-and-out Light Beings who shared their souls with me.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I began each class with a grounding, heartwarming meditation that called for each student to dig deep, reflect and connect to the Divine Energy that brings us all into the same room to practice yoga.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I believe that there is this underlying current of ever-flowing energy that guides us to share space and energy. And I believe it is important to share our experiences as a community.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So, I asked them to finish the following sentence:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Yoga is ____________.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
With eyes closed, attention drawn inward, I then asked them to share, shout out, be heard if they felt compelled to do so. The result was spine chilling. Here are some of the responses I received.

Yoga is healing.
Yoga is my way of expressing myself.
Yoga is peace.
Yoga taught me to love myself.
Yoga is what I do for me.
Yoga is pure magic.
Yoga is release.
Yoga is love.

And the really amazing thing? We had this deep #SOULversation with one another without having to say much—just one word. Almost every response was followed by a, "mmm" or a little giggle or a silent smile.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I ended the class by reminding my students that yoga simply brought them home to themselves. That these adjectives are actually descriptions of themselves. Then, right before savasana, I instructed them to drop the words "yoga is" and replace them with "I am".
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I am healing.
I am expressing myself.
I am peace.
I love myself.
I do this for me.
I am pure magic.
I release.
I am love.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You can bet there were tears. And chills—lots of chills. Laughs. Moments of clarity. Breakthroughs. Mass healing. I am so very blessed to do what I do. I wouldn't trade this magical, rewarding journey for anything. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to share and receive a part of your heart.

It's taken me a long time to get here—to this place of confidence, positive self #bodyimage, and contentment with myself in each moment. It ain't easy. Not one bit. Which is why I chose to get out of my comfort zone today and show y'all what I still struggle with.

EXPECTATIONS | This is what healthy looks like on me. And I fucking LOVE it. This is me physically, mentally and spiritually healthy, balanced, and happy. WHOLEistically healthy. I wear it proud today and move forward with momentum.

BREAK DOWN TO BREAK THROUGH | 🔆 | I may stumble and fall off my path, but I choose to come back stronger and more determined than ever.

This is my #truth. I've been taking the past couple months to take care of myself more than I ever have. And I gotta admit, I used to label #selfcare and #selflove as selfish, lame, weak and too feminine.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In the past I exercised the fire within me so much that I'd say that I've got some hypermasculine qualities to me. I've always glorified go go go—at one point even working 1 FT nursing job, fitting in 2 PT nursing side gigs and teaching 20 yoga/HIIT classes a week.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I kept myself so busy that I didn't feel much of anything anymore.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I was numb.
I wasn't happy.
I couldn't empathize.
I felt disconnected.
I didn't know who I was.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A massive breakdown, a shit ton of resistance, and a perspective shift later, I'm feeling more balanced than ever 🙌🏼
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I may not practice physical yoga—the asanas/poses—everyday, but I'm constantly practicing at a deeper level through mindfulness and self-observance.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I move at least once a day for a solid 30-60 minutes whether it's walking Scarlet, strolling around with Dexter, #running, doing #crossfit, killing a #HIIT #workout, #stretching, doing #yoga or #weightlifting at the #gym.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I take shit slow. I do my morning rituals. I journal. I read. I learn. I meet myself where I'm at. I breathe into resistance. I cook. I connect with others. I paint. I spend time in nature. I disconnect from #thematrix.

If you're going through this, know that you are not alone. Trust me! This process happens to me often, every year or so. It's totally okay to evaluate, change, and commit to your game plan and to connect with what resonates with you on all levels.

I've been craving a salad just like this and kept trying to find it elsewhere when I realized HELLO—I can make that shit myself 😂 Lol and the awesome thing is that I got to share a whole entire bowl with my brother and packed it for my sister's lunch tomorrow, too!

This meal sat well with my belly after having a weird episode of discomfort after eating yesterday. And on top of it all, I just love meals that are both #deliciousandnutritious 🤤

It's time to BLOOM. This month is all about bearing the flowers and fruit that I've cultivated, patiently watered, and tirelessly worked so hard on. It's also about staying in touch with what makes my soul sing—keeping up with my rituals, teaching, working out, setting up #mindfulmeetups, and connecting with others, aka << B A L A N C E >> which is so very, very important!

I've received some amazing opportunities within the past couple of days that will be added to the mix. I'm stoked, but also overwhelmed with a sense of adventure and positive change! And with all of that, it won't be easy because—LIFE. So I'll be documenting here. Can't wait to share with y'all!

About today: I'm #grateful for the opportunity to work out with my sissy mama @pitgang 😍 and because we had a pretty late #workout sesh, that kinda explains the late post AND the #blogpost not being done for y'all yet! I love #empowering others to be the best versions of themselves by reminding them that they have the CHOICE to do so! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
P.S. Thank Goodness for my @passionplanner—it keeps me sane, reminds me of the important things, and allows me to reflect and even reset when needed! #pashfam

I'm quite the extroverted introvert, so for me this all means: time for #selflove, recharging and serious #alonetime. For me that means #oilpulling #journaling #writing #retreating #painting #meditation #yoga #earthingmeditation spending time #outdoors. With all of the work I do, I often feel drained of energy and even overwhelmed with others' energy that I've taken on. It's vital for me to #slowdown and #justbreathe more often than I think necessary. And on top of that, all of the aforementioned bring me back to life 🔋 and a lot of those things even bring the color back 🎨

Upon waking this morning, I did my morning rituals—meditate, journal, check-in. This is what came through this morning.

I made my way out of the house early and headed to Chino Hills. My body said, "Go get something warm," so I stopped by a local @starbucks for a morning #medicineball. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I greeted the barista with a warm, intentional, "Hi, how are you today?!" His eyes lit up and responded with, "I'm tired—yeah, I'm actually really tired today." I followed with, "At least you're honest! Usually people don't really check in and automatically say, 'I'm good, how are you?' I'm a bit tired today too, so I'm with you!"

We continued conversing a bit more, fumbled with the Apple Pay system, wished each other a restful, great day, etc. My point is... the next time someone asks you how you're doing, take a #mindfulmoment to check in, breathe, and respond.
