Cute onesie, @target. Would have been nice to have found in the girls section too. What makes the words "creative kiddo" and primary colors so boyish? My kid will be wearing it regardless of their gender. #genderparity#target#targetfail
Sewing saves the day once again. I picked up this super cute dino tshirt from the clearance rack from Old Navy and once I got it home little miss declared her intention to never wear it. Knowing my kid I asked if she'd wear it with a peplum or as a skirt. Well, that clearly changed things. A piece of ITY from the scrap bin and an hour later we had a super cute drop waist dress with inverted pleats (no gathering for me!). I'm calling this a big win and she loves it. #refashion#isew#sewingforkids#girlslikedinosaurstoo#oldnavy
Well that's better. Hope you like it @a.kayrob! I'll pop you a pm when I mail it. -----------------------------------------------Pattern by theparfaircafe.com
Of course it's when I'm just two seams from finishing a fiddly block that I notice a blemish in the fabric I've just sewn on. Sat with it for a few minutes, but don't worry @a.kayrob, I've got enough to recut and it bothered me so I'm going to do just that. This block was a challenge and I want it at peak beauty for you!
Putting together my top using the tutorial from @suzyquilts. It's going together well though perhaps not at the 15 minutes for an assembled top clip Suzy can do, but I think it's looking really cool.
Not the most creative photo I've ever posted on instagram, but maybe one of my favorites because it means all the pieced blocks of my quilt are done! Got everything boxed up and a layout chart ready to go for some holiday weekend crafting.
It's a good thing I'm alone right now. I'm pretty sure another human being would choke on the amount of smug I'm putting off right now.
I spend the weekend with my amazing @phillyrollerderby family at @theofficial_ecdx this weekend. I saw people I haven't seen in ages, watched a ton of great derby and put my hugely pregnant self out in the world in a bikini (!). I have exactly zero photos to show for it, but I was prepared and my tote bag game was on point at least.
I thought I was done making these dang x blocks. Then I laid the first four I've finished out by themselves (without the snowball blocks to make the #wantafantablock) and now I'm pretty dang sure I'm going to be sewing these forever because I need a whole bedspread from this block!
"Ugh, why do I have to stand up?" It's a rough life, kid.
That's right! All 160 paper pieces templates sewn, pressed, trimmed and ready for block assembly! I'll enjoy my triumph for another ten seconds before moving on to fretting about the snowball blocks I have to finish now.
