Having been in LA for a little over a week now, I've had some time to sort out my thoughts and emotions from the past few weeks. One thing I can say is that starting a new chapter is not easy, especially when you were so happy in the last chapter. The last 10 years in Chicago made me happier than I could've have ever imagined. I'm grateful for the friendships I forged and the memories we made. Over the years, my college friends became forever friends, the friends I met in Chicago became best friends, and my coworkers became the truest of friends that I was just lucky enough to work with. You've all inspired and challenged me a great deal and I've grown tremendously because of it.
As sad as I was to leave Chicago, I'm excited for what lies ahead; to spend more time with friends I've only been able to visit and to meet new friends who will offer new perspectives. To my Chicago (and Iowa) family, thanks for always being there and continuing to be there. I'm excited for new memories with a west coast twist. For my LA family and new friends I have yet to meet, thanks in advance. It's gonna to be a good one.
