a drawing and a kind request by @cleowade and me. it's on auction on @paddle8 for the next few days to benefit the nonprofit @freeartsnyc that empowers underserved NYC youth through art and mentoring programs to develop their creativity, confidence, and skills to succeed! link in bio!
@globaliza makes a morning visit and I put on some nice music and some coffee and revel in her special kind of magnificence
Zahra's fortitude and resilience reminded me of my friends in the tech world, whose brave ideas may have seemed too out there to most when they were first formed but they went on to blow our minds and reset the bar. @zahralari said, "I am covered. I am muslim. I am from a desert country but I'm doing a winter sport, and it's fine." It's better than fine! Check out @globaliza's#amovingportrait with @callmemargot's score. @nikewomen#iwd. Ps have I mentioned how incredible it was to get to play sidekick to my best friend as her creative vision came to life!
One of my favorite things Amal said: "When I first started practicing the sport, it liberated me from a lot of things. Not just in the sense of what the sport has to offer physically but also in the sense of where I wasn't afraid anymore. I wasn't afraid of being who I really am. I wasn't afraid of trying something new. I wasn't afraid to fall, I actually learned to land. I wasn't afraid of what people thought about me." In the Islamic community, our all-female crew meant we had uniquely unfettered access to women's day at the gym, which meant hours of watching @leap.of.hope in awe as she jumped, flipped, spun and balanced.
No one had ever seen an all-female crew but as @egorianiana said best, "women rule the world" so it was all good and even better. Yana's story is incredible. She came from humble beginnings and has worked her way to world best with an intensity that is unlike anything us regular mortals can comprehend. By the end we'd all fallen in love. Watch Liza's full film #amovingportrait as it beautifully honors her strength and grace.
my friends and I definitely #istandwithpp, and the 2.5 million men and women they provide non-judgmental healthcare for annually by offering services like cancer screening via 270k Pap tests and 360k breast exams each year
