I don't intend this to provoke comparison, envy or approval. It isn't meant to be #CoupleGoals. I'm always hesitant to post real moments on here (especially relationship ones), and if it helps you can scroll by. But yesterday marked 12 months with @ellahenry. And those who know me (and/or have met this beautiful woman) know what a miracle she is, and the story of grace it is for us to have met and fallen in love. Thank you for encouraging, praying for, cheering with, and being almost as excited as us. (Thank you Jesus, for introducing/not introducing us in the 90s.) It isn't easy—nothing worthwhile is— and we don't have Instagram Posts showing the hard stuff. But it is pretty much the best. And when you have someone this good to celebrate, it's wisdom to celebrate well.
Thanks, El, for 'Accepting' me a year ago. (Wink emoji). For challenging, believing in, being patient (and frustrated) with, praying for, and waiting for me. For laughing a lot, drinking a lot of fussy coffee, watching good/terrible films, jam-packing my social calendar, and letting me go on this adventure with you. You are a joy and a blessing, a pretty great kisser, and a brilliant partner-in-crime.
I may not shoot hoops like Barkley or Rodman, and you might occasionally include apostrophe's by accident in your ceaseless texts. But it's ok, I c̶a̶n̶ ̶c̶h̶a̶n̶g̶e̶ ̶y̶o̶u̶ love you.
Happy #Oneiversary. Let's do it again!
