Margaritas at Hussong's, where they were invented.
Before we left San Jose del Cabo, we had margaritas and a weather strategy session with the incomparable Jeanne Socrates, who has completed not one but two and and half singlehanded circumnavigations on her Najad 380, Nereida. She's been a hero of mine for years, and the boat @dahlia and I chose was heavily influenced by the choices Jeanne made for Nereida, so it was pretty extraordinary to have the opportunity to step aboard. The cruising community takes such care of one another that it gives me the hope for people I've been struggling to find on land, and I feel deeply grateful for this glimpse of it.
Stranded in Bahia Asunción, about halfway up the Baja California coastline. We're delivering Kingfisher, Jerry Keefe and Allison Lehman's immaculate and capable Sabre 426 from Cabo to San Diego. Jerry's careful weather planning has made for a smooth ride up the coast once we were through the four foot swells and 30 knot winds of Cabo Falso, but things started looking rough around Cedros so we're waiting for a weather window at the extraordinarily hospitable La Bufadora Inn, run by Sheri Bondy and her husband Juan.
