Just trying to try to slow down and look around a bit. Maine.
Gentlemen these days are hard to come by, as are honest souls. This guy was both and he picked me up and he carried me through some tough times. I'm sorry to wish him a farewell this evening. Rest In Peace Nipsey. Thank you.
A little over a year ago, I was blessed to have the opportunity to take an epic bicycle trip through Normandy with two lifelong friends. We visited the locations of the American assault on D-Day, 73 years ago today- Point Du Hoc, Utah and Omaha Beaches as well as the American cemetery. To say that the experience was profound would be doing it an injustice. What the Allies accomplished that day with our leadership and 156,000 troops, 5,000 ships, 50,000 vehicles, 11,000 aircraft and 13,000 paratroopers changed the world. The sacrifice those men gave that day was incalculable, but they all understood that the world needed to come together for a greater good. Now might be an appropriate time to send the leaders of our federal government there for a lesson on sacrifice, what “greater good” means and how to get shit done.
The last piss at the Griff.
I'm doing this urinal too much justice.
Be happy that this application isn't scratch 'n sniff. But I sure will miss it.
I'm fired up to finally have polished up my first conceptualized short film project documenting the process of this talented man. We've been close for as long as I can remember and it was an honor to collaborate with him and watch him create his magic. The link is in my bio.
Oh... and the best part? The painting is hanging in my office.
