Fidget spinners are awesome. I've never thought of myself as a fidgeter but I am. Glad to have found such a great tool for keeping myself calm.
I'm currently in Kelowna working in the EOC as part of a ICS team managing the logistics and finance of the 2017 Kelowna Flood.
There is a enormous amount of freshet (snow and ice melt runoff) coming down the Okanagan lake tributaries at an unprecedented rate. This has caused quite a few problems from terrain erosion, lakeside property damage and sewage system throughput issues among many others.
Today was my second day of work, the incident is at just over 30 days passed. My role is to organize the sandbag supply locations across Kelowna, primarily by coordinating with private trucking companies with HIAB crane flat deck trucks. We went through well over 100,000 sandbags today with 200k more to be delivered on Monday.
We expect this incident to go on to at least June 14th. We are here for the duration.
Stopped in for a class with Professor Rob Biernacki at Island Top Team and received a warm welcome. I learned some De La Riva to omoplata details as well as a nasty footlock. Got a couple rolls in too. Thanks for having me!
