today when we walked into the marfa museum thrift, they were playing a mix by @chanceswithwolves but duh cause @frankfteardrop was workin/// 🌵/// Texas life has been chill af. THANK YOU!
we crossed the border yesterday and went to the town of #Boquillas, population 300. you "cross the border" (it's all the same shit!!!!) & you take a boat ride over maybe one foot of water and then take a donkey ride 1 mile into town. both totally unnecessary but necessary! there are two restaurants that face each other, a bar, a school, an ambulance to take you to the closest hospital 130
miles away. they just got electricity 2 years ago (read that again and think about your life... TWO YEARS AGO!) when the government planted a solar farm on the edge of their pueblo. there are crystal caverns nearby and a hot spring called el calderon. all the kids out there run around slinging scorpions made out of beads and wires their mami and abuletias craft. I bought one off the first to roll on me and then the whole crew showed up. I wanted to buy all the scorpions and give the niños all the money, but I had six singles on me and I handed it over and told them to share and to keep their little scorp doodles and it made my heart sing so loud when the two older babes took two each and gave their little humans one and one. no greed in that town. everyone works and hustles together and shares the wealth. it was real dope. oh yeah oh last thing. the girl in the black, her name was Pollo and her little sister was Ingrid. last night I was laying in bed and I wished I had told her that when I was her age, I went by the name Chuleta, given to me by my old man. I think she would have liked her and she might have flashed her shy curious smile a little brighter /// GRACIAS A BOQUILLAS! ❤️
