Working from home. Stop motion animating while standing on one foot. Thanks to @annakolson for helping me set all this up.
Some of you know about this already, but I slipped on some ice on my way to work last Friday, my foot got stuck on the way down, and I broke my lower-leg in three places. It has been an odd week, and there will be more strange weeks ahead. If you see me around town in the next few months with a big cast on my leg, that’s why. Likewise, if you DON’T see me around town, or at your event, or happy hour, that’s probably also why, so don’t take it personally. 😄
The last several days have consisted almost entirely (as in upwards of 23 hours a day) laid out on my back or on my side keeping my foot elevated above my heart to manage the swelling. I had surgery on Wednesday to reset the bones. They put in seven screws, a plate, and a couple medical grade zip-tie gizmos to hold everything back together. I still don’t know what the exact timeline will be like, but thanks to the support I’ve gotten from my doctors and nurses, friends, work colleagues, my wife, and my family, I’m on the road to a full recovery. I’m excited to get back out there.
Hit the streets in the new neighborhood with about 2,000 other folks in support of immigrants, refugees, and social justice. #NoBanNoWall
This is a video that I shot at the Women's March in St. Paul today. It was such a positive, uplifting event after a few rough months. I'm feeling a lot of love for my Minnesota community today, and I'm happy to be home! Check it out and watch with sound if you are able.
Also, the words at the end are from one of the speakers at the event, MN State Representative Peggy Flanagan. #womensmarch#womensmarchmn
