I'm not a fan of pictures of me these days, but I do love pictures of my kiddos. So thankful for the privilege of being their dad!
Dad, thank you for always putting family first and for giving without ever expecting anything in return. And thanks for being willing to rock a polka dot diaper bag. Happy Father's Day! Love you lots!
Today marks nine years that I've been married to this incredible woman. It doesn't feel like nine years yet, but maybe that's because she doesn't seem to age. (Seriously. 😍) Or maybe it's because our three kids are constantly keeping us on our toes. Regardless, I love the life we've made together. But most of all, I love you, @afton_r! Happy anniversary! ❤️😘
To my mom, thank you for being such a wonderful example for your kids and a loving grandmother to all of your grandkids. Love you lots. Happy Mother's Day!
I love this lady in the middle and the little ones surrounding her! Thank you for being the heart of our family, @afton_r! We are so very blessed to call you ours. Happy Mother's Day!
Christ is risen! Happy Easter to all of those celebrating.
And a happy birthday to my gorgeous wife! 32 looks darn good on you, and I'm so thankful we've been able to spend more than a third of our lives together. Love you, @afton_r! 😘
Very grateful to be able to go on field trips with my kiddos. Today we walked to Olathe South to see and learn about a bunch of animals they have there. Lakyn's favorites? The snakes and the tarantula. #prouddad#sorrymomma
I couldn't be more proud of Rilyn after this weekend! We've been trying to figure out which activities she might be interested in, since she gets very shy and insecure around strangers and in unfamiliar settings. She recently found out a classmate from preschool was playing soccer, and she started to get excited. She was counting down the days to her first practice and even insisted on having a pair of red socks to match their red jerseys. However, as we approached the field yesterday morning, she clung to me and said she wanted to turn around and head home. After some tears, we were able to convince her to stay and give it a shot. She was apprehensive at first, but really came out of her shell by the end of practice. On our way home from practice, she was already asking how many sleeps until the next one. ❤️
Yesterday, my last remaining grandparent, my grandpa Eitzen, passed away with his two daughters and oldest granddaughter by his side. He was 93 years old, and I'm grateful to have shared so many years with him. Some of my fondest memories from my childhood involve trips to Oklahoma where we'd play croquet in their huge backyard, or miniature golf near their timeshare in Pagosa Springs, Colorado. He loved his family deeply, and had a special connection with the great-grandkids that is evident in this picture from Thanksgiving. (Rilyn was pretending to call him on her "phone" and would just talk away—not something she typically does with people that she doesn't see regularly.) Above all, though, he was a man of God and never wavered in his faith. He set an incredible example for all of us, and will be greatly missed! Love you, grandpa. Memory eternal!
This one turned seven today. She's seemed a lot older and mature to me in the past couple of weeks and I've struggled to pinpoint why. Then, this morning, I see her face light up to a donut dotted with some candles, and I'm reminded again that she's only seven. In first grade. Still just a kid. A kid I couldn't be more proud of. Love you so much, Lakyn Kay! ❤😘
Traditions, old and new.
Thankful for so much this year, but especially this lady right here. Love you, @afton_r!
