Great show from Thievery Corporation at @930club tonight. Genre-defying, but funky as hell all the way through.

On election night in 2008, after watching Barack Obama win the presidency at a nearby bar, my wife and I walked to the White House and celebrated with thousands of people who had spontaneously flocked there to celebrate. Later, around 3 am, I went back and walked to the Lincoln Memorial, where several dozen others had congregated. Tonight I went back to the White House to see this beautiful celebration of today's long overdue Court ruling legalizing gay marriage, surrounded by a throng of hundreds, gay, straight, of all races and ethnicities, parents and their kids, and virtually every demographic in America. Stunning to imagine such a ruling, much less a president authorizing the White House to be bathed in rainbow lighting. And oh by the way, that president is an African American. As my kids tell me repeatedly, the 21st Century is way more awesome than the 20th! #loveislove
