Checked out Sweet Iron's new waffle shop on the hill for lunch today (tag is for the downtown location). It's better for the sweet things than the savory.

I mean, I was a pretty cute kid. Being home for the holidays always means being surrounded by non-digital family photos, which makes me want to a) print some photos for a change, and b) save all the memories that only live in frames and albums at home. I actually downloaded the @Google #PhotoScan app before we headed back to the Midwest so I could bring some of the gems (like this one of me on Cape Cod in maybe 1987?) back to Seattle, and I am pleased to report that it works exactly as advertised (#ThanksScanning)—an #ad I can actually get behind!

Whether your meal involved a turkey or not (our feast today in Wisconsin was actually vegetarian, but my dad smoked this small turkey for us in Michigan on Tuesday), I hope your holiday was full of friends and family. Happy Thanksgiving!

The Grand Coulee Dam Visitor Center was designed by architect Marcel Breuer in the late 1970s and resembles a giant generator rotor. An evening laser light show, projected from the center onto the dam's massive face, was added in 1989.

This was our third time at the ice caves this year, and perhaps the last before winter's avalanches begin rebuilding the glacier at the base of Big Four Mountain. It's been amazing to see different this landscape of rock and ice can be with each visit.
